The global objective of the project was to improve environmental protection through investments into waste water treatment improving environmental standards in Serbia.
The specific objective of this technical assistance was to provide assistance to state authorities in the preparation of a National Sludge Management Strategy and related Implementation Plan to enable Serbia to carry out the institutional, legal, technical, financial and administrative improvements to meet EU and national standards in urban wastewater sludge management.
The support provided by the project team was based on the following services:

• Development of a National Sludge Management Strategy and the Implementation Plan;
• Development of a Guidance document on good operational practices for sludge management.
