The global objective of the project was to achieve an integrated and financially self-sustainable waste management system in East and Northeast Regions. The activities of the project team:
Preparation of Assessment Reports based on the review of existing situation of the waste collection and transferring system in East and Northeast Regions;
Preparation of Technical specifications Assessment Report for supply of equipment for waste collection and transferring of waste for the East and Northeast regions;
Preparation of Market Analysis to determine the products available, their origin, and their price range and investigates if a sufficient number of eligible suppliers whose product fulfills the requirements are available together with detailed estimated budget breakdown based on a market analysis including indicative prices, recommendations concerning the presence of open competition in the market, and potential origin of supply issues; preparation of estimated costs based on a market analysis; preparation of detailed distribution list of equipment (bins and vehicles) per municipality; development of a proposal for the division of equipment into lots with justification, in consultation with the MEPP;
Development of Technical Specifications (TS) for supply of equipment for waste collection and transferring of waste in the East Region;
Development of Technical Specifications (TS) for supply of equipment for waste collection and transferring of waste in the North-East Region;
Development of Feasibility Studies with Cost-Benefit Analysis for each of the two regions regarding optimization of vehicles and equipment for waste collection and transferring of waste within the interim scenario proposed with fewer existing dumpsites in operation.
