"Resilience Support Programme - Phase 2 - Technical Assistance"

The overall objective of the Resilience 2 Programme is to continue contributing to strengthening the resilience of rural populations in Burundi, including those affected by forced displacement, through the improvement of sexual, reproductive and nutritional health, while combating the causes of malnutrition, and through rational and sustainable land and natural resource management within a disaster risk prevention framework.

The specific objectives of the Programme are as follows:

Rural populations affected by or exposed to the risks of forced displacement, as well as displaced persons or refugees, have access to better reproductive, sexual and nutritional health services and are less vulnerable to the causes of malnutrition;

Land and natural resources are managed more rationally and disaster risks are better prevented and reduced.

The Resilience 2 Programme is implemented through two projects by:

The World Vision International - CARE - COPED consortium in the province of Butanyerera (comprising the former provinces of Kayanza and Ngozi);

The CORDAID - WWGVC - WHH - Burundi Red Cross consortium in the province of Buhumuza (comprising the former provinces of Cankuzo and Ruyigi).

The Resilience 2 Programme has a total budget of EUR 29.4 million, of which EUR 26.5 million is a direct contribution from the European Union. The Programme duration is 48 months from December 2024.

The objective of the TA is structured around four Outputs:

Ensure the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of the programme;

Provide technical support for the efficiency of implemented activities;

Strengthen Programme coordination between the consortia and with the authorities;

Ensure capitalisation and visibility of the Programme.
