EU Support to State Aid legislation

General objective The overall objective of the project of which this contract will be a part is as follows: Contribute to the post COVID-19 economic recovery and creation of a more competitive and sustainable economic space in BiH Specific objectives: The purpose of this contract is as follows: State aid system in BiH aligned with obligations set forth in the SAA Results Result 1 - State aid legislation further harmonised with the EU acquis; Result 2 - Strengthened institutional/ administrative capacities of the State Aid Council (SAC) and implementing authorities (Ias); Result 3: Awareness of key stakeholders on state aid rules raised; Description The Project will support further alignment of BiH State Aid System with EU acquis and obligations deriving from the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) by means of further harmonisation of relevant laws with the EU acquis, building capacities of key institutions in the BiH State Aid system and raising awareness on state aid rules and obligations among key stakeholders including state aid grantors. With implementation of activities foreseen under these three components, the project will contribute to creation of a more competitive and sustainable single economic space in BiH. Therefore, it is designed to support harmonisation of the State aid legislation in BiH with the EU acquis, primarily by supporting aligning of relevant by-laws in line with EU acquis. Further, strengthening of institutional and administrative capacities is envisaged by means of training for SAC and IA including both on the job training on practical issues and specific training on EU state aid best practice, seminars and similar. Finally, raising awareness for state aid grantors and other relevant actors in the State Aid System is envisaged as important step in ensuring the effectiveness and credibility of state aid policy control.
