Final evaluation of the project 'Integrated management of the coastal zones (GIZC) in ', 2016/379204-1
Background The issue of the coastal zone management came to light through the Global Climate Change Alliance of the European Commission (GCCA) giving rise to a project in Senegal entitled 'Integrated management of the coastal zones' in the amount of 4 M€. This project aims to contribute to adapting to the climate change in the coastal zones of thus laying out the bases of a plan for Integrated Management of the Coastal Zones (GIZC) for an effective fight against the coastal erosion in combination with specific measures for protecting the littoral. Project objectives The global objective of the project is to perform a final evaluation of the project 'Integrated Management of the Coastal Zones' (in terms of relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, impact and sustainability) in the context of the Global Climate Change Alliance. Two specific objectives are to be achieved: Perform an assessment of the project implementation in its entirety, i.e. all of the performed activities performed in the 5 years, as well as the results achieved in relation to the initial objectives. Develop (good and bad) lessons learnt, propose actions to maintain or strengthen the project benefits and issue recommendations for a potential formulation of a new project/programme.
