Objectives of the project In line with the Terms of Reference, the project aims at carrying out a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) of the activities implemented within the Climate Resilience for Sustainable Agricultural Development Support Programme (Projet d'Appui à la Résilience Climatique pour un Développement Agricole Durable - PARC-DAD) in Niger. The SEA specific objectives are the following: Help ensure the conformity of sub-projects (on-site projects) of the PARC-DAD with regards to (i) environmental legislation and (ii) recommendations on proper integration of environmental and climate change issues in EU-financed interventions ; Provide guidance on the environmental and social management of sub-projects eligible for subsidies within the PARC-DAD with the objective of prevention or mitigation of negative impacts / optimization of positive impacts; The SEA will address component 1 (Result 1) of the PARC-DAD, which aims at implementing projects addressing climate change in two regions (Dosso and Zinder). It will also take into consideration planned/implemented activities under component 2 to identify synergies and collaboration possibilities, in particular when it comes to monitoring.
